In late August, the Northern Councils Alliance, together with NORTH Link, travelled to Canberra as a delegation of Melbourne’s North for a series of meetings with Federal Ministers, Local MPs and Shadow Ministers.
The NCA Mayors from our seven member Councils were pleased to represent our community, advocating for urgent investment in transport infrastructure, stronger employment pathways, and a coordinated response to ending family violence in our region. Also highlighted was the critical need for a new hospital to meet the growing demands of our population.
The discussions were constructive and reaffirmed the importance of regional collaboration in advocating for the needs of our region.
We are especially grateful to our local MPs, who attended a dedicated session where local priorities were addressed.
The delegation thanks all the Ministers, MPs, and Advisers who engaged with us so openly. The NCA looks forward to continued collaboration to ensure our community in Melbourne’s north is more connected, supported, and full of opportunity.
