NCA Mayors call for commitment to critical investment

As Victoria heads towards the State election, the seven Mayors of Melbourne's north are united on one message: investment in our region must keep pace with growth.

In the coming decade, our region is expected to welcome another 500,000 people. Growth brings significant opportunity, but only if the infrastructure is there to support it.

That's why the NCA is calling for commitment to priority investments that will strengthen transport, healthcare, active travel and employment outcomes across Melbourne's north:

☑️ Funding and delivery of the Upfield to Wallan rail extension

☑️ Land acquisition and planning for a new outer north hospital

☑️ Review and transformation of the northern bus network

☑️ Northern - East to West Rapid Bus Route

☑️ Hume Freeway expansion

☑️ Delivery of the Outer Metropolitan Ring Road (E6)

☑️ Delivery of the Northern Trails Network

☑️ Rollout of an Inclusive Employment Program

These regionally significant projects will improve access to jobs, education, healthcare and essential services, while supporting economic growth and liveability across Melbourne's north.

The decisions made during this election campaign will shape our region for decades to come. We encourage the major parties to commit to the investments needed.
