Melbourne’s north welcomes new Study Hubs for tertiary students

Two Northern Study Hubs, sponsored by La Trobe University and funded by the Australian Government, have been established in Broadmeadows and Epping to provide space for tertiary students to learn, connect and access support.

Each hub offers free access to quiet study spaces, academic support and high-speed wi-fi – all in a welcoming, inclusive environment. They are perfect for students who are studying online, those who need support to stay on track and others who may have difficulty accessing transport to campus.

Open to students from any tertiary institution, the hubs provide a place where students can connect with others and access the resources they need to thrive. There is a lot of support available too. Students can join workshops, meet employers and get career-ready with local industry events and personal support from expert advisers.

NCA Mayors and CEOs toured the Broadmeadows site in October to see first-hand how the Study Hubs support students from across the region. They were welcomed by Vice-Chancellor of La Trobe University Professor Theo Farrell, who spoke to the meeting about the university’s strategic plan and plans for the future.

The tour occurred as part of an NCA meeting hosted by Hume City Council.
