NCA in the news

The recent launch of our Connecting Melbourne’s North: It’s time to transform our transport campaign generated significant media coverage.

The Age

On 7 August, the day of our campaign launch, The Age printed an article that focused on issues with the Upfield line and the urgent need for improvements.

This was followed by a second article on 12 August covering the potential Epping North transport corridor, specifically the need for land acquisition between Lalor and Wollert.

ABC radio

Also on the morning of our launch, Chair of the NCA and Mayor of Banyule Cr Tom Melican was interviewed by Sammy J on ABC radio.

Channel 9

We were pleased that our campaign attracted the attention of

Channel 9 reporters, who attended our launch. At the event

the NCA Chair, Cr Tom Melican, Mayor of Banyule was joined

by Cr Adam Pulford, Mayor of Merri-bek, Cr Naim Kurt, Mayor of Hume,

Cr Susanne Newton, Mayor of Darebin and Cr Ben Ramcharan,

Mayor of Nillumbik.

With a strong focus on community and business needs,

the NCA Mayors called for urgent action to improve our region’s transport system.

The story was featured on the network’s prime-time 6pm news bulletin that day.
